Making Sense of
Sensory Integration in Dogs
Dive into the fascinating world of sensory integration with our Sensory Integration (SI) Theoretical Course, designed to deepen your understanding of how dogs process sensory stimuli to shape their behavior and perception. This course is perfect for trainers, behaviorists, and dog enthusiasts who want to explore the theory behind sensory integration. This course is aimed at, but can be followed independently of our hands-on practical course.
In this comprehensive theoretical journey, you’ll uncover how sensory stimuli are received, modulated, and integrated to form a dog’s reality. Learn why some dogs overreact to movement, lack spatial awareness, or struggle with self-regulation, and discover how sensory integration plays a critical role in addressing these challenges. From puppies developing their potential to dogs needing behavioral therapy, this course provides the knowledge to understand sensory processing and its impact on behavior.
Through engaging lessons, you’ll explore the difference between conditioning behaviors and guiding neurological development, equipping you with the insights to enhance your training approach. Whether you’re preparing for the practical course or seeking standalone theory, this course will transform how you view and address canine behavior.
Practical course available in Poland 2025, Belgium 2026
Hi, I'm Els and this is my girl Lissa.
After studying for 11 years in the field of physical therapy for humans (physiotherapy, manual therapy and osteopathy) my interests shifted to canine behavior.
Now I'm combining all my previous studies in different fields in Belgian-based business FreeDogz, where I mostly work with dogs for behavioral adjustment through behavioral therapy and sensory integration.
I have the privilege to have been invited internationally for seminars and workshops. The main topics are observation of dog behavior from a sensory perspective, sensory integration, self-regulation and play in dogs to promote self-regulation.
I feel passionate about sharing my insights with colleagues so we can better help dogs and their owners.
With a keen understanding that body and emotion cannot be separated, it is possible to successfully used sensory integration in both canine motor rehabilitation and canine behaviour therapy.
